I was so pleased with myself that I was able to write this. :D I felt like I was spinning my wheels for hours on Tuesday night (not on poetry, but on other blog topics; I started about five different drafts), and then I decided not to force anything. This poem came out of Wednesday's Morning Pages (for which my reward was going to be to catch up on all our group's Voxes, heh!). :)

What a lovely poem, Lisa. It incites such homeliness and delight, a curious and eager sense of place. You really captured the doggy spirit well!
